Just when you think

Just when you think it's all lost,
the farthest labyrinths of mind
scarred by relentless steely
question marks
bent on their pointless chase
for light, a hidden glimmer,
just when you don't think
anymore,
surprise,
(but not quite that fast)
prevailing measured breaths
feed warmth and light into
some previously ungleaned
life.

Research Says

Research says happiness lies more
In the anticipation
than in the act itself
could be
but I don't think so
between you and me,
if this be fact
there would much more happiness
than acts
in life's game which is
mostly
wait and see.

Life's Expectations

When life's expectations
match reality,
we're happiest, they say,
then lowest is the best,
for any reaching up
may disappoint.
High expectations for
a splendid life
could be a trap, but,
somehow going low
seems not a match
to reaching for a star
to catch.
