The morning's porringer feeds
you
the lowly stuff of life
— and cleans your insides too —
its simple shape misleadingly
a promise of no strife,
you are not served it
if you are, merely a visitor
— cakes jams, tea, coffee and the
like
await you then, and more —
but should your visit be, likely
a longer, lingering while,
to break your fast
it pours for you
life's nourishment
to last.
The fallen petals,
spring's coat shed,
reminded me
my youth's regrets,
when thinking of
skies always blue
surprised I was
by rain's wet due.
Indulge your assumptions
especially those lurking under
"I'm not assuming anything "
as it's been observed
that anything can happen
anytime, anywhere,
(it rained today Victoria Day)
on top, around, on side of
your assumptions, anyway.
